The Emptiness Between
Eliška Kováčiková and Zahra Zavareh
Vernissage: Friday 18 August, 17.00–21.00
Artist talk: Sunday 20 August, 14.00
”The Emptiness Between” is organized by Flat Octopus and features two visual artists, Eliška Kováčiková and Zahra Zavareh. Although the artists’ practices differ in their form of expression, both are deeply interested in exploring abstract concepts, metaphors, and dualities. The works displayed in this exhibition attempt to reveal the hidden, the unseen, and the untold stories that belong to the realm of in-between, but also to welcome imaginations of various kinds to contribute and contemplate together.
The exhibition is curated by Edit Fándly.
Opening hours: Saturday–Sunday, 10.00–15.00
Eliška Kováčiková is a Slovakian visual artist, currently based in Stockholm. She primarily deals with the theme of space analysis, aiming to scrutinize it and unfold its layers in various ways such as digital media, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and installation, to transcend the limits of the medium to unexpectable visions. www.eliskakovacikova.com
Zahra Zavareh is a visual artist from Tehran based in Stockholm. She aims to challenge the observer’s traditionally passive role and to melt the boundaries between the viewer, the work, and the context, by investigating the different forms of storytelling via objects, sculptures, video art, and installations. www.zahra-zavareh.com
